MARTIN FRANCO BIO

Martin Franco rocs the mic a bailar chico! -  SF Bay Guardian

There's a party going on when Colombian-American
Latin-Fusion artist Martin Franco takes the stage, celebrating the cultural mix that is California. With his passionate high-energy band Mambo Soul, bringing the conscious beats of Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Latin Rock, Jazz, Funk, and Reggae rhythms, sprinkled with electronic beats provide the fuel for their joyous musical journeys.

Poly-Caribbean, Martin Franco has his roots in Colombia where Cumbia and Salsa reign supreme, in New York City where Latin Jazz and Latin Soul reached their peak, in Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo where Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton rock the nights, in Jamaica where Roots Reggae rules cool, and in California where psychedelic Latin Rock musicians Santana, War, and Malo created the original Latin Jam bands.

Martin Franco, a Colombian-American vocalist, saxophonist, percussionist, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer originally from New York City, mixes the classic styles of America's Latino communities into his funky, psychedelic Mambo Soul-ful fusion. His positive vibes and positive messages celebrate the diverse cultures that walk the sacred ground we dance on.

Wild saxophones and guitars, soulful Spanish/English vocals backed by thundering, driving percussion keep everyone on the dance floor whenever Martin's Franco Mambo Soul plays.

MARTIN FRANCO'S RESPETO

“Respeto” - music, lyrics & video by Martin Franco (http://www.martinfranco.com) - is an anthem of Latino pride, hope and rebellion rooted in the non-violent resistance championed by Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and Martin Luther King, challenging anti-immigrant race-baiting and demagoguery. Rooted in the immigrant experience of hard work and sacrifice for this country, “Respeto” is a spiritual call for unity, love and respect amongst all Latinos and all peoples in the United States of America.
