MARTIN FRANCO

Mambo-a Bantu word meaning communication with the Gods
Soul-The spiritual principle embodied in human beings

Passionate, Spirited, Latin-Fusion artist Martin Franco celebrates the cultural musical gumbo that is the San Francisco Bay Area. Martin Franco and his band Mambo Soul bring a conscious party vibe with Salsa Dura, Tropical Cumbia, Merengue, Reggaeton, Latin Rock, Latin Jazz, Heavy Funk and Roots Reggae, providing a spark of collective excitement for all their musical performances.

A poly-Caribbean experience, Martin Franco has his roots in Colombia where Cumbia, Vallenato and Salsa Dura reign supreme, in New York City where the Boogaloo, Latin-Soul and Jazz of Fania-era Salsa reached a creative peak, in Santo Domingo and San Juan Puerto Rico where hard hitting Merengue and Salsa rock the nights, in Kingston Jamaica where Roots Reggae rules cool mon, and in California where psychedelic Latin Rock musicians Santana, War and Malo picked up on Jazz, Funk and Caribbean rhythms creating the original Latin jam bands.

Martin Franco, a Colombian-Italian-American vocalist, saxophonist, accordionist and keyboardist from New York City, synthesizes the classic styles of many Latino communities: Colombian, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Mexican, Central American and Nuyorican creating a deep hybrid with American Funk, Classic Rock and Jamaican Reggae all played with a Jazzy Urban Latino twist.

Wild accordions and guitars, saxophones, Spanish-bilingual vocals backed by thundering, driving timbales and percussion keep everyone locked on the dance floor whenever Martin Franco’s Mambo Soul play.
